Speculation that New Jersey Democratic Congresswoman Bonnie Watson-Coleman could face a primary challenge or retire has ramped up in recent days after numerous members of her own party criticized for her vote against a pro-Israel resolution.  The three-term Congresswoman has made a name for herself for her liberal voting record.

It is not entirely clear who would challenge her or succeed the Congresswoman should she retire.  The district which includes Princeton and Trenton has a history of electing some of New Jersey’s most liberal members of Congress.  From 1999 to 2015, it was represented by Rush Holt, a Congressman known for his liberal record.
