President Al Sharpton? Rumors Swirl About Potential 2020 Run

In a recent interview with The Guardian, Reverend Al Sharpton said “I never rule anything out,” when asked whether he would throw his hat in the ring for the 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary. The activist had deep criticisms for the Democrat party and expressed worries that they have not built enough momentum to take on Donald Trump in 2020. “You can’t just announce a wave, you have to organize a wave.”

Sharpton is nothing short of an expert on stirring up a motivated crowd and is no stranger to the spotlight, highlighted by his long record of civil movements and political action.

Unsatisfied with the current selection of Democrat front-runners, Sharpton named Oprah as someone with the potential to win, stating the billionaire talk show host “could beat Trump in a heartbeat“. When addressing Bernie Sander’s run, he noted the candidate’s failure to draw African-American support, stating he “could only see class, not race and class.”
