In a recent blog and periscope live video by Scott Adams, the author of Dilbert took to the internet to talk about how violence and bullying from Clinton supporters have effected him and many others who are in support of Donald Trump. Adams explains the Clinton campaign and their collusion with the media to persuade the masses by demonizing Donald Trump, branding him as literally “Hitler”. Once people start to truly believe he may in fact be “Hitler”, a series of what he calls- confirmation bias – ensues. This is the mental interpretation of events that you believe confirm your bias, even when untrue. The danger behind believing that Trump is “literally Hitler” is the belief that follows along that his followers are “literally Nazi’s”. Violence against Nazis doesn’t seem so bad, now does it? This thought process is dangerous, as you can imagine.
