Former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, who was fired amid scandal, will join the CNN team as a contributor starting Friday.
In 2018, then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions terminated McCabe after an investigation by the Justice Department’s found he had given disclosures to the media without authorization. The counter-intelligence investigation into President Trump, as well as the obstruction of justice investigation was authorized by McCabe. McCabe was fired from the Bureau a day before he reached eligibility for pension benefits.
Following the announcement of his hiring by CNN, conservatives reacted in uproar, with the President’s son tweeting “ANOTHER REMINDER: @CNN ceased being a “news organization” a long time ago. They’re now a fully integrated anti-Trump propaganda network and they don’t even try hiding it anymore.”
